Licensed Counselling Therapist – Candidate

Lex (they/them) is a Licensed Counselling Therapist-Candidate with the College of Licensed Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB). They hold a Master of Education in Counselling from the University of New Brunswick, a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from the University College London and a Bachelor of Knowledge Integration from the University of Waterloo. They offer in-person and virtual counselling to individuals 16 years of age and older.

Lex is passionate about working collaboratively with clients to help them overcome the obstacles preventing them from living the life they want. Lex’s uses an integrative counselling approach based in person-centred and feminist therapy. Lex also incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy into their work.

Lex identifies as queer and genderqueer and they are passionate about working with members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Lex also has a special interest in working with polyamorous individuals, members of the kink community, and artists. Lex’s areas of focus include sexual and gender identity, sexual violence, trauma, problematic substance use, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, stress, and procrastination.

Lex grew up in Menahqesk (Saint John) and is grateful to be back in their home by the sea. They had an unusual path to counselling; working in museums and archives before going back to school to become a counsellor. In addition to working as a counsellor, Lex is a professional artist. In their spare time, they enjoy taking silly pictures of their cat, singing, and spending time on the water.
